Upon graduating from Syracuse University College of Law, magna cum laude, where she was also a member of Law Review, Melissa Pennington clerked for the Superior Court of New Jersey. Thereafter, she joined the Wall Street law firm of Ford Marrin, where she practiced mainly in the area of commercial litigation. Ms. Pennington left private practice and entered the public sector as an Assistant District Attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney's office where she was assigned to both the Appeals Bureau and Special Prosecutions Bureau, where she investigated an prosecuted financial crimes committed against immigrants. Upon joining Sorid Law Office in May 2012, Ms. Pennington has successfully obtained loan modifications for dozens of clients. She emphasizes client relationships at every stage of the foreclosure process and aggressively pursues favorable outcomes on her clients' behalf. Ms. Pennington also speaks fluent Spanish, and has worked with many of the office's Spanish-speaking clients. |
